For the last two weeks, we have been getting to know the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
We tried some porridge, just like Goldilocks, and talked about how we like it. We made a plan for the toppings we wanted for our Porridge, and then we had a go at making some. We mixed and scooped our porridge into our bowls, chopped up some bananas, and squeezed some honey on the top!

This week we have explored the nursery rhyme, Miss Polly had a Dolly.
The children have taken on the role of doctors and nurses to take care of babies. We have looked at photographs of ourselves as babies and have discussed all the ways we have changed and all the things we have learned to do.
WB 30.9.24 - The Wheels on the Bus
This week we have been exploring the nursery ryhme, 'The Wheels on the Bus'.
We have talked about different types of vehicles, and have listened to the sounds they make to try to identify them.
We have focused on circles in our art creations, and have explored objects that roll.
We have also been making the most of the rainy weather. We splashed in puddles, and collected rain water to fill different containers.
WB 23.9.24 - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
This week, we have been looking at the nursery rhyme 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.
We have explored objects that shine, shimmer and twinkle.
We have created our own night sky paintings using black paint, glitter and sequins. We also learned how to use glue spreaders to create shiny collages.

After showing an interest in animals in small world play, we started out exploration of nursery rhymes with 'Old MacDonald had a Farm'.
We visited our vegetable garden for the first time, and harvested the last of the carrots before washing them. We also helped to cut back the lavender, and used the cuttings for potion making.
We explored mixing blue and yellow paint to create a lovely green field for our small world animals to live in.
As a team, we created a large mark-making masterpiece using our gross motor skills. This is now on display in our classroom!
WB 26.2.24
Following on from the children’s interest in worms, we created a wormery. We visited our vegetable garden to search for worms to put inside. It has been interesting to find out which foods the worms like to eat, and which we must not feed them.

With Valentine’s Day coming up, we have been exploring love and kindness, linked to the pink monster in the story Colour Monster.
We have explored colour mixing to make shades of pink, like the monster himself. We have talked about people who are special to us, and made them a little gift to show them that we love them. We also talked about different ways that we can make others feel loved, and we enjoyed finding ways to make others laugh, including pulling funny faces, which we practiced in the mirrors.
