At Morton Trentside Primary we believe in the power of Music. We understand that it can help us to be happier and more creative, to express ourselves and work as part of a team. We know that it can make us feel more confident, take pride in what we do and improve our self-esteem.

We aim to develop pupils as confident musicians who can perform, compose, listen critically and understand music from a wide range of historical periods, cultures and traditions. Through high-quality musical experiences, pupils develop technical skills, musical vocabulary, creativity and an appreciation of music's role in society. Our music curriculum is supported through the use of the Charanga scheme, which provides a progressive and engaging framework for teaching musical skills and knowledge across all year groups. In addition, pupils benefit from Whole Class Music Tuition delivered by the Lincolnshire Music Service, giving them valuable opportunities to learn instruments, perform collaboratively and experience specialist music teaching. Through these experiences, we foster a lifelong love of music and encourage every child to reach their musical potential.
