The adults working in the classroom this year are:
Class Teachers: Mrs Sophie Stiff & Mrs Leanne Barratt
Teaching Assistants: Miss Jess Langton and Miss Sarah Boyd
In Year 5, our fantastic children will enjoy fun, hands on learning every day with our class adults. We love exploring new ideas, working together, and celebrating all the wonderful progress the children make throughout the year. We can't wait to continue our exciting learning journey in Year 5.
PE days
Please make sure your child comes to school in their PE kit on:
• Mondays
• Wednesdays
Homework
Homework will help support your child’s learning at home.
• Given out: Every Friday
• Due back: Every Wednesday
Snacks
Please ensure your child brings a healthy snack for break time.
• Examples: Fruit, chopped vegetables, healthy snack bars
• No crisps, chocolate, or sweets please
Homework expectations
• Reading for at least 10 – 15 minutes for a minimum of 3 times per week. It is encouraged they read to an adult, but as they become more independent, you may wish to ask your child reading comprehension questions to check their understanding instead.
• Times tables – to ensure they continue their fluency of timestable recall, we encourage them to use TTRockstars on Garage. We recommend a little and often approach, for example five minutes, three times per week.
• Weekly spelling words – we will share the spelling pattern that children have been learning in class in their homework book to practise 3 times a week for 5 minutes.
